Rancho Las Lomas felt like the perfect setting for Harrison and Caitlin, a couple whose relationship has always been rooted in commitment and patience. While stationed in Japan during their time serving in the U.S. Navy, their connection grew slowly and intentionally. It was built on mutual respect and the kind of conversations that made the feel smaller.
They carried all of that meaning into their September wedding day. They chose a citrus-inspired color palette which felt fresh, thoughtful, and perfect for the setting. From the space to the details to the energy of the day, this is a wedding you’ll want to keep scrolling to see unfold!

The Details, Getting Ready, & First Looks
For their Rancho Las Lomas wedding, Harrison and Caitlin chose to get ready separately with their wedding parties. They made the most of the on-site suites, Casa Bonita and Casa Abuela. Both spaces felt calm and comfortable, giving everyone room to settle in, get dressed, and enjoy those final moments before the day really began.
Caitlin’s look tied in beautifully with the citrus-inspired palette, from soft blush tones to fresh florals. Harrison wore a classic blue suit that added the perfect pop of color against the venue’s warm architecture. They chose to share a first touch before the ceremony, followed by a sweet first look between Caitlin and her father. These quiet pauses allowed the day to slow down and create space for real emotion and connection before the ceremony.

Rancho Las Lomas Wedding Ceremony at La Teatro
For their Rancho Las Lomas wedding ceremony, Harrison and Caitlin exchanged vows at El Teatro. The open-air space sits beneath towering oak and sycamore trees. The setting felt warm and intimate, with the marble stage and surrounding architecture grounding the space. Soft string lights and lush florals by Brooke Bloom Co. added warmth and texture throughout.
As Caitlin walked down the aisle with her father, her cathedral-length veil flowed behind her. They were beautifully framed by a floral arch filled with citrus tones and soft pastels. You could feel all of the joy during the entire ceremony from not only Harrison and Caitlin, but their friends and family, too.

Outdoor Wedding Party & Newlywed Portraits
For portraits, Rancho Las Lomas wedding venue truly shines! This is one of those venues where you never feel stuck in one spot. Spanish-style buildings, tiled staircases, lush gardens, shaded walkways, and quiet tucked-away corners all sit just steps from each other. It makes moving through portraits feel natural, not rushed, and gives couples so much variety without ever leaving the property.
Every turn offers a new backdrop, which is exactly why I love photographing here. From intimate moments framed by greenery to classic architectural views, Rancho Las Lomas makes it easy to create a gallery that feels full, layered, and timeless, all while staying completely true to the day as it unfolds!

Cocktail Hour & Ranch Las Lomas Wedding Reception at El Teatro
The reception was one of those moments where everything came together, and this Rancho Las Lomas wedding truly came alive! Vibrant, citrus-inspired florals, warm candlelight, and glowing amber glassware filled the space. Thoughtful, handmade details told Harrison and Caitlin’s story in such a personal way. From hand-painted terracotta table numbers created by Caitlin’s sister-in-law to a seating chart woven with photos from their years together, every detail felt so intentional.
Before guests flowed into the reception space, Harrison and Caitlin shared a reception room reveal with Carissa, their planner and owner of Positively Charming Weddings. It was such a special moment to witness. Carissa brought their vision to life, and the outdoor reception under string lights felt warm and full of energy. Once the music started and the glow sticks came out, the dance floor stayed packed! Overall, this Rancho Las Lomas wedding was one to remember!

Planning a Rancho Las Lomas Wedding? I’d Love to Connect!
Rancho Las Lomas is the kind of venue that works beautifully for couples who want their wedding day to feel elevated, relaxed, and intentional. With its layered architecture, natural greenery, and an easy flow from ceremony to reception, it’s a perfect fit for couples who care about meaningful details, thoughtful design, and an experience that feels effortless from start to finish!
It has quickly become one of my favorite venues to photograph. My approach blends natural moments with gentle guidance, allowing the day to unfold while still creating images that feel refined and timeless. Being so close to my home makes it even sweeter, and I would love nothing more than to photograph many more weddings here and continue working alongside planners like Carissa of Positively Charming Weddings again.
